I am a Counselling Psychologist and have been in private practice for 20 years. I trained at the University of Natal where I obtained a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology. Over the years, I have engaged in further training regarding the treatment of a variety of disorders and presenting problems as well as divorce and family mediation. My practice is set in the quiet surroundings of residential Westville which creates a calm and conducive environment to a good therapeutic outcome.

In my work as a psychologist, I am passionate about empowering people with necessary skills to deal with present and future life issues. My therapy sessions are designed to provide patients with effective tools to help them see solutions instead of problems. I am contracted into all medical aids, charge less than medical aid rates, and work within a short-term, solution-focused framework. Credit card facilities are available for those wanting to settle their accounts on the day of treatment.

I am also an accredited mediator with the KwaZulu-Natal Association of Family Mediators (KAFAM) and serve on their executive board. Through divorce and family mediation, I assist divorcing couples to be part of the decision-making process regarding their settlement, parenting and financial responsibilities. My focus is on minimizing emotional trauma often associated with divorce proceedings, while creating a co-operative atmosphere to co-parent healthy well-adjusted children into the future once the spousal relationship has ended. Fees for mediation are not covered by medical aid and rates are available on request.

Making the call for help in any difficult situation is often a scary and overwhelming experience, but once accomplished, it can be the most empowering experience in assisting you in taking control of your life in this fast-paced world that we live in.
